Overview
Break out the boots, belt buckles and cowboy hats and check out the Strathmore Stampede. Or, we double dare you to run with the bulls — the only event of its kind in Canada — with a chance to win $1,000 for your bravery.

This Stampede has been around since 1966 so expect the very best rodeo action from Aug 4 to Aug 7. You'll also find unique hand-crafted goods and arts and crafts at the tradeshow.

Other events throughout the weekend include, chuckwagon races, live entertainment, a farmers' market, and beer gardens. Come and enjoy the long weekend and embrace your inner cowpoke.

The town of Strathmore is located 25 minutes east of Calgary on the Trans-Canada Highway.

Rodeo
With more than $250,000 in prize money up for grabs, Strathmore Stampede is Canada's third largest rodeo.

World, Canadian and Calgary Stampede champions are among the more than 400 contestants competing in seven major rodeo events, including saddle bronc, bareback, bull riding, tie down roping, steer wrestling, team roping and ladies barrel racing. Many of these top-ranked competitors and rodeo stock will also appear at both the Canadian and National Finals Rodeos, as well as the Calgary Stampede.

Chuckwagon Racing
With four wagons, 12 men and 36 horses thundering through the figure-8 start in the infield and around the 5-8 mile track right in front of the crowd.
