Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at home in my lounge room.

Time

It was about 9pm

Lighting

I used 2 speedlights one pointing to the glass the other behind the glass to light up the tracing paper that was used as a back drop

Equipment

Sony a55 with 40mm macro 2 speed lights Camera axe with one valve Senser Liquid was water with a small amount of milk to thicken it up and red food colour. I cut the sides and back out of a moving box and replaced the sides with tracing paper I used a tall glass of water to drop my drops into. Then it was a matter of getting the timing right between the drops and flash

Inspiration

I saw a few examples on line and thought I would try it, it took some time to get all the settings correct but when it did I was so excited

Editing

No post for this show as I was new to photography and still new to photoshop

In my camera bag

I now have a Nikon d800 and trying my hand a fashion photography as I work at one of Australia’s biggest fashion brands in the IT department

Feedback

I used the camera axe that is no longer available it’s being upgraded. But there are a few timing computers available now. But just get in an play
