Behind The Lens

Location

On my patio

Time

During my lunch break from work approx 12:30pm

Lighting

Noon day sun just peaking over my roof

Equipment

My new eps rebel T3 with 18-55mm lens. No tripod or flash, just a steady hand.

Inspiration

My wife was watching the bee as I was eating my lunch. Just a few days prior I saw some awesome bee shots on View bug.

Editing

A little cropping. No other post-processing.

In my camera bag

Remote shutter release, extra batteries of various sizes. Filters, extra camera battery and charger. 70-200mm lens, 18-55mm lens. Tripod, notebook for recording settings of different shots. Spray bottle for misting plants. Cleaning kit. Different cables hdmi etc.

Feedback

Take lots save few. Don't be afraid to take the camera off the auto setting. Be patient and use a tripod or have a steady hand with no quick jerky movements. Concentrate on the subject. Mo ve around the shot to avoid blocking ligh or casting shadows. Do not over expose or kill the natural shot in post processing. Have fun and enjoy.
