I was driving down a rural gravel road one evening, and this fellow landed on the ground about 20 feet from me and started squawking at me (luckily, I was driving slow at the time!). I got out of the car with camera in hand. There was a second Godwit circling the car from above. I figured there was a nest nearby, so I only stayed long enough to get a few photos.
