The gorge of Mavri Spilia (Black Cave) is about 2 km from the village of Prouso. It is one of the most beautiful and impressive gorges of Evritania. It has taken its name from the famous Black Cave, which was a refuge for the inhabitants of the region during the Ottoman domination and during the German occupation. What makes the Cave of Black Cave stand out is the only via ferrata route the start of which is signaled by the Black Cave.
