I was born a Yorkshireman but I now live in my adopted county of Cumbria, of which Carlisle, the Border City as it is known, is the largest city. Carlisle Cathedral has stood here for over 900 years and has witnessed a lively history, standing, as it does, close to the border with Scotland. It is the second smallest cathedral in England - Oxford is the smallest - and this shot shows one of its features, the largest window in the Flowing Decorated Gothic style in England.
