Location
The photo was taken from a hide at Montrose Basin in ScotlandTime
Mi-afternoonLighting
No special lighting, just natural daylightEquipment
Camera and lens used was Nikon D7100 and Sigma 150-600. No flash, no tripod, it's a handheld shot.Inspiration
Knew the kingfisher was making appearances so went to see if we could see her, around 150 miles round trip. She landed on a perch just in front of the hide and shortly after flew up and started hovering before diving into the little burn to catch a fish or a shrimp.Editing
Only very basic editing, I don't have photoshop or any of the more involved editing apps. So probably only crop and a bit of contrast and not much elseIn my camera bag
My equipment is Nikon D7100 and Sigma 150-600 lensFeedback
Patience and a bit of luck
