Silbury Hill

Another one from Saturday. The Neolithic mound of Silbury Hill is very close to Avebury. Indeed, the West Kennet Avenue leads from one to the other. After visiting Avebury I called in to Silbury. Had to wait but eventually a shaft of sunlight stuck the mound. A very strange place and no one knows what its function was. Over the years people have tunnelled into it thinking it might be an enormous burial mound but there is nothing inside. It is just an enormous mound!
