Provence. The home of -- among others -- lavender fields. Many of which attract hoards of Instagrammers and self-proclaimed "influencers" (as if). Whenever one drives past a patch of lavender they are there in droves, taking the same photos from the same angle, one after the other. Once the snaps are done they are fixated on their "smart"phones, uploading the content to their social media feeds. And then they are off to the next obligatory destination to repeat the same again.

This image was taken off the beaten track, at a harvested lavender field. There were no Insta-crowds there, just a farmer in his truck, bees buzzing overhead, the heat of a summer afternoon, and peace all around.

This is my expression of gratitude to Provence, its beauties, its hard-working and all-accepting people for their hospitality, generosity and inspiration.
