On the halfisland Öhn was the city of Lycksele born in 1607. It was already a meetingplace for Samer. The trade there and the Sami decided that their church should be built here. The first church had no long life. The first use was in 1607 and the last in 1734. Another church was built but it was there only form 1736 to 1799. To remember these churches you have to visit Gammplatsen in Lycksele.
