Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the highlands, in a place called "The widow's mountain range" in the central Peruvian Andes, it is a wonderful and quiet place where the skies are so clear that seems that the water touches them. This place is located 100 km east of Lima City, between the departments of Lima and Junin, and is a very common destination for people who wants to escape from the city craziness and boredom, to spend a day full of adventure. This particular lagoon is called "Seven Colors Lake", a place that dazzles the visitors by the water mirrors of great natural beauty, it is located at 4,500 meters above sea level, it is called in this way because of its colors that are a mix of different shades of colors such as blue, green, light blue, turquoise among others.

Time

This was taken around noon, the view was really good and the sun was high in the sky.

Lighting

No, actually I was impressed by the fact that the picture didn't need any kind of digital retouch because it looks exactly as how I took in with my camera.

Equipment

I used a Canon Powershot SX400 IS, no tripod, no flash, the setup was f/4, ISO 100, 1/180 sec, and a focal length of 4 mm. This was one of the first pictures I took with that camera that I bought after I took some photography classes in college.

Inspiration

The view looked like a little piece of heaven, so I decided to take the picture and perpetuate the moment forever.

Editing

No, actually it looks exactly as I snapped it with my camera.

In my camera bag

Nowadays I have a little more professional camera, a Nikon D3400 with two removable lenses: an 18-55 mm and a 70-300 mm; I also use my cellphone because of its 48 mp camera resolution that in the professional mode, allows changing the ISO, shutter, and diaphragm to get more sharped photos.

Feedback

Come visit Peru, it is a nice and beautiful place. It is safe most of the time, but right now is a little convulsed over some political issues, but despite the time we are living, people here are friendly and caring; the landscapes are breathtaking, and is the home of Macchu Pichu, one of the seven wonders of the world.
