Fantastic image! few photographers capture the elderly with an air of mistique and dare I say playfullness. The norm is to use lighting that exploits every facial artifact that quantifies ones age. Here, you have extenuated the state of being old. Well done!

This photo was taken in my grandmothers dining room. I cleared some space and set up a portable grey background.Time
Shot in the evening. But not important as strobes were used. No natural light.Lighting
Very simple light setup. One Einstein strobe with a soft box and honeycomb grid attached to control the light spill.Equipment
Camera was Canon 7d. Lense was 24-105mm. No tripod. Flash was a Paul.C.Buff Einstein.Inspiration
I wanted to create simple portraits of my family members. I'd taken some straight forward shots of my gran and then saw the mask so thought we'd have some fun.Editing
Post pro-cessing wasn't anything drastic. Just adjusted the contrast, and the tones of the image in photoshop.In my camera bag
Normally carry two 7d's, 24-105mm and 70-200mm f2.8. Pocketwizards are always good to have and two Einstein strobes.Feedback
