I captured this wildlife photograph back in late March of 2016 during a family camping trip to the Kissimmee Prairie State Park. The Northern Crested Caracara is a largish bird of Prey that is resident from northern Florida down to Central America. This wildlife photograph is one of a series of wildlife photographs that I took of this Northern Crested Caracara bird. Typically, caracaras are not considered to be fast-flying aerial hunters, but are rather sluggish and are often scavengers. This avian prefers open and semi-open country that ranges from lowland to a mid elevation in mountainous terrain.
