Location
This photo was taken during a photo shoot in an old abandoned printing works in Kells, Co. Meath, Ireland. An entire printing works, complete with five Victorian era printing machines and complete fonts sets was discovered thirty-four years after its owner died. An unfinished poster for a local football club lay waiting to be printed. Everything was as it had been the day the owner died.Time
I visited the old printing works a few times but on this occasion it was in the morning in order to make the most of the available light.Lighting
Natural light in a dimly lit building. Long exposure.Equipment
Taken using a Nikon D750 with a Nikkor 50mm lens at f4 for 3secs / ISO 100 on a tripod.Inspiration
I was looking for items that had belonged to the owner to portray the essence of who he was.Editing
I try to take my shots so there's very little post processing. I'm not 100% sure but I'd imagine that I lifted the shadows a bit to show the watch faces a bit more clearly. In my camera bag
I carry my trusty Nikon D750, Nikkor lenses 16-35; 28-300 and 50mm with me. Plus lens cleaning cloth, spare battery and tripod.Feedback
Low lighting exposures take a bit of practice but they're totally worth it. Depending on the light available, expose for the highlights and bring up the shadows in post-processing.
