This photo was taken in Old Montreal near the canal and the bike pathTime
It was early evening, just after dinner.Lighting
When the weather changes quickly it creates a strange feeling. Feelings are difficult to capture in an image but here I think the light helped me record the damp heavy feeling that a drastic change in temperatures can create.Equipment
This was shot with a D800 tripod and believe 50mmInspiration
I actually went out to take photos because it was warm in January. This freak break in the very cold temperatures created an eerie mist that looked like a scene from a movie.Editing
I did not do much more than turn it into a black and white. I might have pushed the contrast a little to find the couple walking in the far distance. In my camera bag
Besides camera (D300, D800, now mostly D850) External flash, extra batteries, 35mm, 50 mm, 85 mm,70-200 zoom. Reflector and always have my tripod in the car.Feedback
Don't get lazy.l. You have to be there to take it, so go out and dp it. You never know when the right opportunity arrives. To shoot this image, you need a tripod and some patience. "Let your feet do the zooming"
