Thank you! I got lucky. I made a comment about wanting to get a shot of the Victoria Secret store across the street....

Location
I took this photo at a coffee shop on the corner of Burrard and Robson St. The coffee shop is no longer there (headquarters of gLulu Lemon). Across the street was Victoria's Secret. I was trying to take the photo with Victoria's Secret as the background but my ex kept rolling her eyes and laughing because I couldn't get the right angle and the road and side walk was getting busy. I actually just wanted to take a photo of the Secret store because it happened to be the official opening day...Time
I can't recall the specifics but it was late in the afternoon. We have been walking around the Vancouver Downtown area all day. We found this little coffee shop to rest and have some food and coffee.Lighting
I was experimenting with taking black and white photos that day and just getting used to shooting in manual.Equipment
This photo was shot on a Nikon D5000 using a kit lens. No flash and hand-held.Inspiration
I initially wanted to take photos of Victoria's Secret new flagship store in Downtown Vancouver. I wanted to take a few photos of the store in a way that it was not the main subject/focus but a subtle way of showcasing the store within a portrait of my ex. After many attempts, I reviewed the photos I took and I saw this one. This stood out the most because it was not planned and the reaction she made is the face she makes when I try to be funny.Editing
No post-precessing was done to this photo. In my camera bag
What's in my bag? A Canon D80 camera, 24mm and 50mm lens, Rode Mini mic, Ulanzi L1 Pro mini light, and a free-standing monopod.Feedback
You have to be a little intuitive, have lots of patients and have good timing for that shot. You may have an idea planned out, however, always be aware that situations may deviate your plans. Take that shot and pray your settings are on par...
