Monument in St. Audoens Church, Old Dublin City, Ireland. The figures on the right are a monument to the Sedgraves (Seagraves). The father, Stephan Sedgrave was a wooden crain operator, who was a member of the church and was killed along with his wife and children on Friday, 11 March 1597 in the while operating the crain from above his home. The explosion destroyed a large part of the town, including parts of the church. In addition to Stephen, his wife, Joan, and three of their children who lived in the cranehouse were killed. The Sedgraves, my mother's family, are commemorated in this funerary monument in St Audoen’s church of which my husband and I visited in August, 2017.
