Location
This photo was taken in the outskirts of Dubai while waiting for a short desert safari ride.Time
The time of day was particularly tricky as the sun was going down quick and I had barely minutes to capture a good crisp shot.Lighting
I was only carrying my camera on this day, no tripod. The sun was about to go down in minutes while taking this shot and I had to use my elbows as a tripod by laying flat on the sand :-)Equipment
My old friend canon 6D + 70-300 zoom lens, no tripods or extra lights.Inspiration
It didn't take long for me to notice the patterns on the sand which looked so similar to swells of the seas. So I went along clicking pictures of dunes random dunes and ATVs where suddenly I found myself surrounded by these small patches of grass in the 'sea of sand'Editing
I had to perform some minor lighting adjustments with LR. As I am a firm believer of not over-editing a picture, I left this one mostly untouched to that end.In my camera bag
These days my bag has a fujifilm XT-3Feedback
Don't stop exploring. Had I not climbed this one last sand dune, I would have never discovered this shot.
