Behind The Lens

Location

Taken in New Hampshire on the way up Falling Water trail as part of the Franconia Ridge Traverse. Gorgeous views throughout!

Time

Taken in the morning, I think I used an ND filter

Lighting

Nope, available light.

Equipment

Canon 5d3, 16-35L, backpack on a boulder for a tripod

Inspiration

I love shutter dragged waterfalls, this is a pretty one with all it's tiers.

Editing

Just some levels adjusted

In my camera bag

I primarily shoot with the canon 5d3, and a sigma 35 1.4. Probably 95% of my photos come with that combo. I have a bunch of other L zooms and primes that rarely get used. My favorite telephoto lens is the canon 135 f2.0.

Feedback

Wait until sunrise or sunset for better lighting, getting the best shots requires patience (weather might not work out) and dedication (still need to be up early or late to find out if the situation is favorable) This shot was taken casually while I was hiking, not specifically for the waterfall. That being said, at some point I'd like to make a special trip to photograph these falls earlier in the morning.
