Behind The Lens

Location

Kaw Kwang Beach, Koh Lanta, Krabi Thailand.

Time

Sunset time after 6pm.

Lighting

This day was a bit cloudy and the sunset itself wasn't so colorful, but I loved the light and reflections and cloud shapes.

Equipment

Samsung NX3000

Inspiration

This beach is one of my favorites and specially in low tide time and sunset time. It's so low, that you can walk nearly 200m out from shoreline. It's giving so awesome reflections.

Editing

I always shoot Raw and with color and do black and white post-prcessing in Photoshop as it gives you more options with 3 channels.

In my camera bag

Canon D 60 with Canon EF-S 18-200mm as I don't want to change the lens on a beach. This day I was lazy to carry my big camera and did choose smaller mirrorless Samsung NX3000 with tripod.

Feedback

For a good sunset you always need some clouds. This day I wasn't so lucky with colorful sunset as the clouds did block it, but it gave a very beautiful edge shapes for them. The next thing will be to find the a very long low beach. Better if you use tripod as the sun is setting down very quickly and you start loosing the light.
