Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken at our home. We live in Williams, WA on 10 acres

Time

The shot was taken quite early in the morning with the sun coming up the other side of the house.

Lighting

Not only was this in the shade from morning light, it was also under the veranda of the house so all I could do was turn up the iso.

Equipment

The camera was the Fujifilm X-t1 with an old Canon FDn 400mm lens fitted.

Inspiration

Magpies here tend to weed out the weak and injured and this one we use to scare off the others that attacked him. He has a bit of wing trouble but seems to be able to fly ok. He comes back to the house every now and then and will sit on the back of the chairs we use to be on. We don't believe in trying to tame him but are pleased to see him.

Editing

Just a bit of a crop.

In my camera bag

Mostly wide lenses as I do a lot of landscape but I have some of my older lenses which include the Canon FDn 400mm and the amazing Kiron 105mm macro
