The last day of a week at Niton on the Isle of Wight in May 2012 and we hadn't seen a red squirrel all week. We'd finished packing and were ready to carry the bags to the car when I heard a noise on the low roof of the chalet behind me. I was lucky to have camera to hand (it's not usually far away) as he-she wasn't there for long and soon scampered away. May 12th 2012.
