One of my favorite photos I've taken of these eagles. I took this photo in automatic setting, on the very first day with my DSL camera that I had no idea how to even use. I did adjust the exposure in Lightroom after the fact.
The female is the one flying. She dove off of the branch, swooped downward and right up over my head. The male quickly followed her

Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in Pittsfield, MA next to Onota Lake.

Time

It was about noontime when I took it

Lighting

It was a cloudy day. I did 'auto correct' for the lightning using Lightroom because I didn't know how to set my camera

Equipment

The day I took this, I had just received my new Canon 7D Mark II camera with a Canon 400mm lens. I opened the box, put everything together and charged the battery long enough for some quick photos. It was my first DSL camera and I really had no clue how to use it. I put the settings on auto, set it on my tripod and attached my remote and pointed at the eagles. perched on the branch. I only got off a few clicks before the female left the branch and swooped down, then up and over my head. The male quickly followed.

Inspiration

I love photographing nature. The more I watch this pair, the more I like to photograph them

Editing

Yes. I auto corrected the exposure using Lightroom. I didn't know how to se my 'new' camera at the time.

In my camera bag

Canon 7D Mark II Canon 77D Canon 100-400mm lens Canon 35mm macro lens Canon 70-200 mm lens Tokina 11-16 mm lens Canon 60 mm lens Canon 70-135 mm lens

Feedback

Just keep shooting, try every setting. Get familiar with your equipment. Don't get discouraged. Upload everything and then sort through. Sometimes youR mistakes make the best photos. Don't delete in the field.
