Location
One of my favorite places to go for macro inspiration is a flower shop or something similar. Which is where I created this image.Time
Later afternoon is also a favorite while taking macro shirts because then the shadows are there but you can avoid them if you want.Lighting
When taking macro shots I personally prefer even lighting so I don’t get any shot ruining shadows.Equipment
I used a canon rebel t6 and flash. I also used a 55 mm lens.Inspiration
I love the complexity of flowers and capturing that in photo form is compelling and tells nature’s story.Editing
Since I shout raw I often edit lighting and crop to make composition more interesting.In my camera bag
I usually carry my camera and one or two lenses. Usually a 300 mm and 55mm along with an extra battery and charger. I also always carry a land cleaner and filter lenses.Feedback
When taking macro flower shots be sure to get multiple different angles and shots and in the end pick your favorite. Quantity leads to quality!
