Behind The Lens

Location

Space Shuttle Discovery on the back of the transport 747 on its last flight to the Smithsonian's National Air & Space Museum at the Udvar-Hazy hanger at Dulles Airport. On the way, it flew over the Mall at Washington DC a couple of times before landing where I stood just at the base of the Washington Monument. The NASA chase pane can be seen in the lower right which gives a good measure of scale.

Time

Lighting

Beautiful day to photograph a spaceship fly over the Capitol.

Equipment

400mm lens. Canon digital. No tripod.

Inspiration

I have been photographing spacecraft, airplanes and cars for many years. When I heard they were bringing Discovery up from KSC, I jumped at the chance.

Editing

Nope. None.

In my camera bag

Sony mirrorless. Lenses as the situation dictates.
