Location
This photo was taken at Pea Island NWR, where I worked back in college. It is the restored Oregon Inlet Lifesaving Station, on Oregon Inlet NC.Time
Hmm, without checking the metadata, I believe around 6 or 7 PM, in April.Lighting
Low sun was starting to add drama to the clouds and decent lines on the sand.Equipment
Canon 7D Mk 1, Irix 15mm 2.5, handheld.Inspiration
I work with the US Coast Guard supplementing public affairs, and have always loved old lifesaving stations.Editing
some bumping of contrast and temp, dehazing. In my camera bag
For fun shoots my Canon 7D mk 1, Irix 15mm, Canon 24-105 and 17-40 lenses, a flash, variable ND and circular polarizer.Feedback
Low, low, low, get down low and watch the light. Having lived on the island and been there through all the seasons, I know exactly how the light will hit. Getting low accentuates the sand lines drawing the user to the station.
