Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at my grandmother's country house, in Villa Rica-Peru. This town is well known for its high quality coffee and reminds me what simple and pure life is. As I live in Lima, I take the opportunity to always travel to my home and take "the picture" that will make me come back  there in mind every time I see it

Time

I took the photo around 10 o'clock in the morning, it is the time my grandmother always makes bread. It's a family tradition since I can remember.  It is the first time I was able to capture this particular moment. It's as if I was able to smell all the ingredients and hear his voice telling me the same stories I heard many years ago.

Lighting

The light I used was direct from the window of the house to the left side of the frame and a meter away. The natural light is of summer day with  a clear sky and clean of city pollution

Equipment

Only my Canon Rebel T5 camera with the 50mm 1.8 lens, without tripod without flash.

Inspiration

Always my grandmother has been very hardworking and wise, that's why every time I go to my hometown I see her with passion and admiration in the little duties of the house. This motivates me that even small things must be done with passion.

Editing

I didn`t use any computer software, use the Snapseed app to be able to edit the photo at the moment and not lose what I feel at the time of capture

In my camera bag

Camera and 50mm 1.8 lens and always my Iphone 7 plus. Additional batteries, memories, cleaning kit.

Feedback

Always try to use the imagination. If I see something that I like, I immediately imagine how that moment would look like in a photo, trying to make it natural and capture the essence. I advise to think of a photo as a story. That photo must have a story around and that the person who sees it imagine what happens before during later. So remember to use the imagination and the history of the photo.
