Former Victorian Railways' locomotive R711 was acquired by West Coast Railways and run each Saturday on a Melbourne to Warrnambool return trip, combining tourism with a few regular commuters. This shot was taken near Birregurra, after a water stop on the nighttime return run towards Melbourne, utilising twin flashes to capture the spectacle of steam at night.
