Taken at a Falconry we like to visit, The owls on display always excite me. this great grey owl has just finished its flying display and is being rewarded, the look on it's face tells how much it is going to enjoy the mouse, which is already dead and is consumed in seconds.Time

Nikon D750 with Sigma 150 - 600 contemporary. Hand held and shot with what I consider my lenses sweat spot of F10. I tend to shoot the majority of my shots in aperture.Inspiration
I photograph the majority of birds on display, most of which appear in my profileEditing

My Nikon D750 and Sigma 150-600, a 1.4 teleconverter which isn't used much as it softens the image too much. a Tamron 55-300 (macro) and a couple of other smaller lensesFeedback
It's great to get out and about in the wild and catch birds around and in flight, but we do not seem to get too much luck with birds of prey (except when we don't have a camera with us), so it's good to go and see them on display and in shows, where we know they are well looked after. These birds are used for quite a lot of TV work around the world and you can tell how much the owner loves the birds more than people.
