Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at our local supermarket. The colors called to me.

Time

I think around noon,

Lighting

It was shaded with just enough sun coming through to give the perfect amount of light. To make the colors stand out and not be faded or too bright

Equipment

This was shot with my iPhone 6s Plus. That it. I think it shows that you don’t need fancy equipment to get good photos just work with the lighting and angles.

Inspiration

I have always loved hydrangeas! And the colors were so beautiful, I had to capture them.

Editing

I did, I just did the general process, fixing the lighting a bit and adding sharpness and contrast, I also added a vintage filter over it to give it that grungy vibe.

In my camera bag

I always pack my Canon T6i, 18-55mm lens, 70-200mm lens, and a macro lens. On trips I take a tripod.

Feedback

Work on the angles. And think about how much of the flower you are getting in the picture you could fill the whole screen but I liked the contrast of it only filling part of the screen. Also lighting, don’t stand in the suns path and cast too much of a shadow. You also don’t want too much light it will make the photo washed out. In the end though it’s all about what you see, if you think it’s photo worthy take the picture! Keep photography fun!
