Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in Embourg near Liège in Belgium.

Time

This photo was taken in the late morning hours in the forest, so I thus avoided the hard light

Lighting

Taking this photo in the forest, I avoided the hard light. On the other side. My background is bokeh due to the light pathing through the trees

Equipment

Nikon D750 with Tamron 28-70 (2.8) mm lens. No tripod, no flash

Inspiration

I was at the 4th edition of Embourg's reenactment Camps on the Second World War. Bivouac Belgian, English, US, Civilian and Germans were present. I tried to get photos as close as possible to the reality. That's also the reason of my b&w photos fot my set of photos I shooted that day. A cigarette break of this GI is certainly a real situation which happened during the second world war. This was my inspiration

Editing

On converted to B&W

In my camera bag

Nikon D750, 70-300 mm lens, 28-70 mm lens, 15 mm iwider angle lens, 100 mm marco lesn I also use for portraits 3 batterise. Filters, bottle of water. The rest depends of the situation

Feedback

For portraits, I use my the 28-70 mm and the 100mm lesn. I usually underexpose my portraits to give more character
