Location
This was taken on a beautiful morning from the beach at Grand Isle State Park in Grand Isle La. I spent several months in the area volunteering at the state park and was attempting to capture a picture with the local dolphins or pelicans in the shot but they were always late for the sunrise so I chose to bracket the sunrise with the pier..Time
I spent several mornings trying to get the shot I was looking for and chose sunrise on a morning in early November.Lighting
I was looking for a shot that would bracket the sunrise. The pier was just the right spot and back lit to give the effect I was looking for.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D5200 using a Nikon DX 18-55 mm lens with a 52 mm multi coated UV filter on a tripodInspiration
I love sunrises. It dose not matter whether I was at home, on vacation or deployed to somewhere else in the world a sunrise can always be beautiful. With just a little effort a sunrise can turn into a beautiful work of art.Editing
I do not do any post processing on my photos at this time as I am just starting to get into photography at a level more than for vacations, but I am looking forward to improving both the quality of my photos and post processing them for the world to enjoy. In my camera bag
I carry a small bag with just the basics in it as I am just a beginner. My bag has a Nikon D5200 camera with a 18 - 55 mm lens that has auto and manual focus, a Nikon Nikkor 70 - 300 mm lens, a light weight tripod, a 52 mm 2.2X high def AF telephoto lens and a selection of filtersFeedback
I am just starting out but already learned that you must take your time to learn your subject and the area you will shoot. That makes a world of difference in the end product. Also arrive early for a sunrise to make sure that everything is set up in time. If the shoot is not right don't fret because tomorrow will come and it may present an even more beautiful shoot.
