The picture is Vulture Mine near Wickenberg Arizona. It's in the middle of the desert but really easy to find. The buildings and town are being restored to what it was ecades ago.Time
I took the picture around 11:30 on a Saturday. It was around 110. A dry heat. Sort of.Lighting
I was going back to the car when I took this picture. It was close to noon in the Arizona desert. The sun was really bright and the light was reflecting of the desert.Equipment
The camera I used was a Cannon 5D Mark IV. Cannon 70 - 200mm 2.8 ISO 100, 125mm, f 2.8, 1/1250Inspiration
I enjoy ghost towns. I had put my camera away and was walking to my car when I walked by the hoist. I had taken a couple of shots of the hoist from a different angle when I started walking around the town. In those shots the sun wasn't in a good position. I was now on the other side of the hoist with the sun in a better position. I took my camera out and to a few shots of the hoist. I posted the best one.Editing
I used Lightroom for post processing. I didn't do to much to it.In my camera bag
I normally take my Canon 5D Mark IV along with a Canon 24 - 70mm 2.8L and 70 - 200mm 2.8L lenses. I also pack filters, a tripod and monster pod.Feedback
I really enjoy the desert and taking pictures in the desert. You really need to be aware of the time of day when you're shooting in the desert. The sun can be so harsh. Early in the morning is the time I've had the best success. The sun isn't so harsh and it's not so hot. Shooting in the winter is easier given the sun strong. If you make your way to Sedona try to stay to the sun starts going down. You can get some amazing pictures of the mountains as the sun sets.
