Location
This photo was taken in the Algarve, Portugul. I go on holiday about once or twice a year, so getting this beautiful landscape shot, is a great opportunity for me and I love the turquise blue water.Time
The photo was taken at 2:31pm on 31st October 2017 as I was walking along the coast pathway. Along the rockface was a walk way, where members of the public could enjoy the hot sun and the beautiful scenery of the Atlantic Ocean.Lighting
Lighting was very important for this photo. If I took it with too much sunlight, the ocean colour would be washed out. If I used not enough light, the photo would be too dark. So, the settings I used were: ISO-100, f-stop/4 and exposure time 1/1600 sec.Equipment
I used my Canon EOS 1200D DSLR camera, with a 18mm-75mm lens. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
I love taking photos of beautiful scenery and getting different aspects to my photos. So this scene was great for what I wanted from the photo, as I love the turquoise colour and how it contrasts well with the tanned rocks.Editing
I edited the photo by adding some contrast, to deepen the colour of the ocean and to add depth to the rocks.In my camera bag
I normally have my 18-75mm lens, my 40mm prime lens and spare caps. I recently upgraded my camera from a Canon EOS 1200D, to a Canon EOS 750D.Feedback
The Algarve is wonderful for beach photos, whether it's taking shallow depth of field photography or landscape photography. For both, the beaches and surrounding area, is great for that. For this photo, I was on manual and I found that getting the perfect settings really bought the photo together, especially as the sky and ocean are slightly different tones of blue. I would recommend that getting the right balance for photos is crucial, as you want to create interest with your photography.
