This photo was taken at my home, in Oregon. My bedroom studio, we were getting her luggage ready for her departure back to California.Time
It was at night time, the last night of her photoshoot with me. Sun was down, curtains were closed.Lighting
This photo was not set up at all, just a spur of the moment. Luckily, this is my bedroom studio and some basic photography lights were on. I like the hard light from the right, it worked for this shot. LimoStudio, LMS103Equipment

Lindsey is very playful, she liked to tease me. We were not together, but she knew I found her to be very beautiful. We were already taking VERY nude photos, so her flashing me was a running joke. This was her last night staying with me, we were both sad about her leaving the next morning. We were both in love with each other, but were not together as a couple. She was trying to be playful and tease me, but it was obvious to me that she was sad to be leaving. I said, stay there, don't move and proceeded to grab my camera. Very glad that I did, now, seven years later we both talk about this moment. When I got back to this room, after taking her to the airport, I literally couldn't breath. I had to sit and focus, force myself to breath normal. Being without her was so painful.Editing

When taking photos of people what you see in the models eyes is, in large part, how they see the photographer. Dress for success. Be clean and well groomed on any photoshoot with people. You don't have to be clean shaven and short hair, as long as you are clean and well kept. People judge on appearance, even when they are not aware of it. Being a photographer can almost be an acting role, you are reflected in the eyes and body language of the model. Be very careful what and how you say things. You have to read each model and adjust your interactions to match. You must find ways to make the model feel comfortable and safe with you. You won't like every model you work with, but the win is getting the shots. Petty personal interactions and traits can be dismissed when the photographer is focused on the end results. Be kind, smile, give words of encouragement as you direct. Even if you plan to do darker shoots with the model, developed that friendly repour with the model so that they can focus on their side of the acting role. If they like you and are comfortable with you, you can both focus on making your vision a reality.
