I took this photo on a WorldPix Safari to the Serengeti last year. We came upon a large family of Cheetahs including 4 or 5 babies. This little guy put on a show for us for several minutes as we took pictures and enjoyed the moment.Time
This was taken first thing in the morning on our early morning game drive.Lighting
Side lighting is best for most subjects and this picture was no exception. The sun had just come up and we had a fair amount of cloud cover creating a big soft box effect on the subject.Equipment
Canon 1DX Mark II with a 200-400mm zoom with built in 1.4X extender. Great setup for Safari. I usually shoot on a beanbag when in the vehicle.Inspiration
Africa! Every day in the Serengeti is different and this day was one of the best. From Lions to Leopards to Cheetahs we were up to our eyeballs in cats.Editing
I spent about 30 minutes stitching the tail back on as I clipped it in the original photo! Lol. I think it's barely noticeable...what do you think? In my camera bag

If you've never been on safari...go! One of my favorite things to do.
