Location
At Yosemite National Park in the spring of 1998 - this was over a year after the flood of January 2, 1997. The flood stage of the Merced River was over 8 ft higher than this spot where I snapped the image.Time
This was taken around 2 pm facing eastLighting
The day was cloudy with some blue sky and I tried my best to capture the subdued lighting as is. The reflection of the clouds and sky in the water was just spectacular. This was taken on Kodak Pro 100 film - scanned on a 4000 dpi drum scannerEquipment

Now I use Sony A7R II mirrorless camera with several old manual focus lenses - my favorites are 5.8 cm Zeiss Jena Biotar in Exakta Mount, Nikkor 28mm f3.5 non-ai , Tamron 17mm SP adaptall lens, and Olympus 50mm f1.4 MD lens. Also a Sony FE 85mm f1.8 - it is a Outstanding performing lens - if you shoot Sony it's a must have.Feedback
With Yosemite or any National Park - check the weather forecasts plan your photo journey when Clouds and chance of rain. Scout the area to determine which would be a morning shot or afternoon and dramatic vistas for sunrise or sunset. Set up your tripod and wait for the best light and view.
