This photo was truly special to me because the weather created the most perfect lighting for this shot. I was so fortunate that there was overcast in the afternoon created a light source that was not too harsh and complemented the mood San Francisco is known for.Equipment
This was shot with an XQ1 with an aperture of f/1.8; I took this without a tripod and without flash.Inspiration
I was in awe of how picturesque the golden gate bridge was in it's entirety; everything about the shot was perfect for me. The lighting was bright, but not overbearing, there was a foreground of foliage in the corner, the bridge was at an angle that allowed it to remain the focus of the shot, and finally the background was scenic and enhances the picture as a whole.Editing
I did routine edits on the coloring for vibrancy and enhanced the lighting, and the thing that tied this photo together was the darkening of shadows to bring out the details of the image.In my camera bag
I currently don't have any equipment other than the XQ1 and my MacBook for editing. I don't let my financial situation affect my love for photography, and though I do dream of owning better equipment, I make the best of what I have now.Feedback
I would say that a key aspect in capturing a photo similar is an attention to detail towards the composition of the scene you're about to take. The placement of your focus is crucial in impressing the viewer because it is the first thing they draw from the photo. A potentially great photo might not reach it's fullest potential if the viewer is distracted or there is no clear focus. It is a difficult skill to master, that I myself am still experimenting with so have patience and practice, practice, practice.
