This photo was a collective effort, I love to learn new things on this journey that I’m on and after watching a @lindsayadler_photo “Seeing and Shaping Light”webinar on @creativelive I started using Gels a lot more in my day to day studio sessions. This shoot was slightly different as I had a FugiFilm GFX 50S camera with GF 120mm f-4 macro lens for a commercial project and invited my friend and graduate dancer Lea to come visit as I had a few ideas in my head I wanted to bring to life, this shot being one of them. I used 3 Bowen Gemini 500’s, with reflector heads, camera left a red Lee filter, about 2 ft from the model but with a poly board blocking half the light. Camera right about 3 feet was my home made Gel ( blue crinkle paper folded a few times till I was happy with how it looked, then again camera left 1.5ft 3rd head with cinefoil folded into shape until I was happy with the was it looked on her eyes only. The shot was taken at f-13 1-125s ISO 100. For post processing my skills are nowhere near as good as the pro’s so I gave it to my friend Bella to complete the task and here we are! I love it, what do you think?
