Location
THis photo was taken in the Freeway Park above I-5 in downtown Seattle.Time
It was taken about 10:30 in the morning.Lighting
The lighting was similar to a huge softbox as the sky was nearly overcast with a maderate layer of cloud thicjness. there were a few small scattered patches of blue sky.Equipment
Canon 70D with a Canon EFS 17-55mm f/2.8 set to 17mm on a tripodInspiration
The shape and pattern pf the branches stood out with the sun backlighting the tree.Editing
I converted it to B&W in Lightroom, then moved it to Photoshop and used the solarize filter and inversion adjustment tools with some dodging and burning in vatrious parts of the photo. I finished it with the posterize filter in the filter galleryIn my camera bag
Camera body and wide angle, 70-200mm zoom and a macro lens and tripodFeedback
Look for shapes, patterns, and textures especially where people just walk by not aware of what is around them.
