On top of the world at the Beartooth Wilderness area on the Beartooth Plateau is the headwaters of the Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone River. The plateau lies to northeast of Yellowstone Park. There is a beautiful scenic highway that bisects the plateau weaves from Montana into Wyoming and back into Montana at Cooke City Montana. The highway is only open during the summer from June until it's snowed in September. The highway rises to over 11,500 feet and is unbelievable scenic.
