This photo was taken on the beach in Cancun Mexico. My wife and I had decided late in the afternoon to go for a walk along the beach, I never go anywhere without my camera, and of course this was no different. There were quite a few of these guys in the area, and I was able to capture this one in mid flight.Time
It was pretty late in the afternoon, we wanted to walk before we went to dinner, I would think around 5:30Lighting
The sun was still quite bright, but I was thinking that the tall hotels may be of help if I needed it and I was able to get a little shade so that the bird was not in direct sunlight.Equipment
I was using a Nikon 3200, with a 70-300 lens. No flash, no tripod, but on speed mode.Inspiration
I love taking photos of all kinds of wildlife, so this was a good spot to photograph several different types.Editing
Well, you can't really tell but this guy was flying fairly low, so I had to crop some beach goers out of the photo. In my camera bag
I have two Nikon cameras, a D3200 and recently added a Nikon D850 With always my 600mm lens.Feedback
I'm not sure I should be advising anyone, but I would say if you are shooting anything that is flying or moving quickly, make sure you have your settings pre set, so that your not trying to change them while things are happening around you. I have many missed opportunities.
