Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at a small zoo in my hometown of Gibraltar. I am a self taught photographer, so always trying to find the best light and new perspectives.

Time

It was taken in the afternoon. I had gone out to our local Botanical gardens to photograph flowers and bugs and be at one with nature. But in the spur of the moment decided to pop into the wildlife conservationi zoo which is located in the gardens.

Lighting

I wanted to capture the pure beauty of this amazing bird with its tail open, but i didnt want viewers to be too distracted by the tail and potentially ignoring the face.

Equipment

This was shot with a canon 60D and an 18-55mm lens.

Inspiration

I was inspired by the amimals pure majestic beauty, and wanted to see if i could capture any emotion in the eyes. I am very fond of nature and the beautiful world we will live. I love to capture the worlds beauty in my photos and share them to remind others how lucky we are and should therefore look after our planet for the sake of nature and animals.

Editing

Usually i bring out the colours highlights and shadows slightly, i dont like to overly process my photos.

In my camera bag

I always have my canon 60D, my Sigma ma to.lens, 55-300mm zoom, standard 18-55mm and fish eye lens, as well as sparklers and a lensball...incase the feeling for being creative comes along

Feedback

Id say take you time, dont go with just the idea of capturing a great shot, take the time to sit down, observe the animals and be at one with nature.
