The photos of the Wild Horses were created at the Lower Salt River near Mesa, Arizona. These horses run wild and free with no interference from meddling humans. There is, however, an organization of Volunteers that looks out for them and sees that they get medical care when and if needed. The horses are somewhat habituated as they are a big tourist draw. It is possible to get quite close to them to get a photograph or to sit very quietly by the river bank and let them go by you to get a cool drink from the river.
