Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on the most beautiful Island of Greece, Zakynthos. This place is called Navagio Beach. You can actually visit this beach by boat or drive around in a car and see it from the top :)

Time

My boyfriend and I decided to rent a car and see as much of Zakynthos as possible. We got to see the most magical places. Especially around sundown when the light turns an amazing orange color. This photo was made at around 7pm.

Lighting

Almost any photograph taken at sundown gets magical light. I used natural light only.

Equipment

I used a Canon 5d mark II with a 50 mm 1.8 lens. Shot without a tripod. I was actually standing on a see through bridge (sort of haha). I was a bit afraid of heights so I made sure my settings were right, ran over, took the photo and got back to save grounds ^^

Inspiration

Before travelling to this amazing place, I googled the island and found out about the Navagio Shipwreck. So back home at my computer I decided I needed to see this for myself and photograph it my way.

Editing

Not much. I played around with the shadows and highlights a bit :)

In my camera bag

I take as much as I can. This includes my Canon 5d Mark II & Canon 5d Mark III. My Canon 70-200mm 2.8, Canon 24-70mm 2.8, Canon 100mm 2.8, Canon 50mm 1.8, my flashes and some extra batteries. :D

Feedback

Go for something you love and think about what it is you like about it and make sure that is what you see in the photo. For me it was the sundown colors on the rocks that I absolutely loved. Orange and Blue color block each other which helps the attraction of the photo.
