The photo was taken along the Salt River in the Tonto National Forest southeast of Phoenix, Arizona

Approximately 12PM

The midday sun in Arizona was perfect

Nikon D7200 w/ an 18-300mm 5.6 telephoto lens

Inspiration

I was inspired by the juxtaposition of the water, mountains and desert grasses. All these elements created a rich texture. The still water allowed the reflections to take on a surreal quality

Editing

Minimal post processing to include cropping, saturation and color adjustments

In my camera bag

I carry a Nikon D7200, an 18-300mm 5.6 lens, and a 50mm 1.8 prime lens.
