Behind The Lens

Location

I take this picture when walking in a park near my hometown, Milan

Time

It was a winter day, so sunset started early at 5pm and the colors of the sky were fantastic.

Lighting

The natural light was enough for this photo.

Equipment

I shot it with a compact digital camera, a Canon PowerShot SX130 IS. In a good light situation like this, even a small sensor camera can get a good picture.

Inspiration

It saw this little lake with the reflections of the trees, the sun was setting down and i got the idea of a shot representing the stillness of the winter countryside. After taking some shots, i just selected the better one.

Editing

This time i shot in jpg, because the camera does not allow raw. So it was compulsory to keep post-processing minimal. I've just increased a little the exposure and the red dominant to strengthen sky colours.

In my camera bag

It's a good question; i shot many digital and analogue cameras and like to change between them.

Feedback

If you want to shot sunset (or dawn) pictures, i recommend to do it in winter. In this season the sun rises later and sets down earlier, so is easy to get the right moment for shooting.
