Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken from Spirit Line Cuises in Charleston SC

Time

It was taken around nine thirty at night

Lighting

After going out on a cruise around the harbor with my wife, son, daughter and father, we were returning to our vehicle and the bridge looked different than during the day. I snapped this image and was very pleased with the result.

Equipment

Nikon D3100 with a 50 to 200mm zoom lense.

Inspiration

The beauty of the bridge at night. And being so close to it.

Editing

I shoot raw and make adjustments afterwards. I adjusted the exposure and white balance.

In my camera bag

35mm portrait lense. 50 to 200mm zoom lense. Tripod. And a Samsung Gear 360 for virtual shots.

Feedback

Shoot everything! The best shots are not always what you were taking a picture of. Minimize post processing. Early on I would overprocess and lose quality. Now I tend to let the image speak for itself. It doesn't need to look more blue than natural.
