I'm a pet photographer, and I often hear people say "Use a hair-light to keep separation"; but I sometimes light my images similarly to this. I think this is beautiful. I've not shot many horses, but there's definitely an art to it, like there is with dogs and cats. This is one of the best horse photographs I've seen. Congratulations.
