The Marine Parkway–Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge (referred to as the Marine Parkway Bridge) is a vertical-lift, trusselled bridge in New York City, New York, designed by architect David B. Steinman. The bridge opened on July 3, 1937 and connects the Rockaway Peninsula in Queens, with Flatbush Avenue to Floyd Bennett Field, Belt Parkway, and the Marine Park neighborhood in Brooklyn. It crosses the Rockaway Inlet.
The center span of the bridge is 540 feet (160 m) long and is normally 55 feet (17 m) above the water. The distinctive twin towers house the vertical-lift machinery that send the lift 150 feet (46 m) above water level. The bridge has become an iconic landmark and symbol of the Rockaways.
